Hello! How can I help you?

My background: My early career path started as a child, drawing on the walls at home...apparently paper was just too small for what I needed ;). I always wanted to do or make something creative, so no surprise when I announced  I was going to art school. My dad thought I was crazy, I knew I was on to something.

In the beginning, I  started with direct marketing in the telecommunication, banking and insurance sectors, getting hands on and creating winning direct mail controls, delving into the strategy behind it while also juggling part traffic manager responsibilities, and learning to write html code at the same time...yes, I like learning new things.

For the past 8 years, I pivoted to digital marketing where I learned more on the job including  pharmaceutical compliance with drug launches, UX/UI methodologies, design systems, the importance of accessibility and a passion for design operations. In addition, I moved from maker to manager roles and donned the title as culture "sherpa" for my leadership role in the agency, spearheading our core pillars of celebrate, recognition, give and wellness...yes, I like to plan and organize.

My leadership style: To create a positive and productive work environment, I prioritize leading with empathy and empowering my team. This means giving them the autonomy they need to do their best work, while also providing the necessary structure, tools, and support to help them succeed. I work to identify and remove any friction or pain points that may be hindering their progress, enabling them to focus on the tasks at hand and achieve their goals. By prioritizing empathy and empowerment, I strive to build a culture of collaboration, trust, and excellence...yes, I love my team!

Made $$$ for: BellSouth, AIG, MetLife, NYLife/AARP, Florida Blue, Farmers, 21st Century Insurance, Travelers,  AstraZeneca,  Bayer,  Abbott, Incyte, to name a few

Bragging rights: I lead a second life as a wanna be master landscape artist in my front yard

Favorite color: GREEN! olive, forest, spring, sage, teal...you get the idea

Design fact: I love designing in Powerpoint and I don't care who knows

Biggest design/UX pet peeves: "Learn More" and "Click Here" call to actions- they don't give enough context, plus "Click Here" is device dependent!

Greatest strength: While I have many strengths, the one pattern that has emerged throughout my career is "building the plane while flying" meaning often I deal with ambiguity on a project while trying to solve for it, often learning a new skill, software, industry, etc. at the same time managing the strategic outputs, resources, and deliverables.

Sphere on Spiral Stairs
"Pauline is one of the best design managers I have ever encountered while working in this industry for almost 30 years. Professional, prompt – a clear communicator, organized, transparent, open and available, and entirely consistent on this front. Consistency with all the things! Predictability! Knowledgeable – When I think I have a tactic/brand/design puzzle figured out, I learn more from her. She is respectful and diplomatic and maintains a positive POV on everything. She is one of a kind, and I am a better professional because of her guidance and leadership. Highly recommend."
