Client Challenges

Our corporate client needed to revamp their intranet experience for their US and OUS teams to increase employee engagement, create a unified experience for scale and incorporate their new  branding consistently throughout the site.  They were using Sharepoint as their current CMS and needed to update the design system to work with modern SharePoint.  From a content  author perspective,  we needed to make the CMS intuitive, robust and flexible  for various countries.  From an employee engagement perspective, we needed to improve employee experience, particularly in navigation to critical documents.

Solutions
1) Discover:  ln addition to conducting a component audit of the existing site, I led a team of 2 UX/UI associates to conduct stakeholder interviews  from multiple country teams to understand how they currently used the site and gain feedback.

2) Define: Through user research, we were able to expand on component functionality including reworking the navigation and search functionality and several new page templates for better user experience for both employees and content authors.

3) Develop:  In addition to expanding component  functionality, suggestions on  we proved the client provided 2 UI options for selection leveraging their new branding campaign to unify the experience for the employees.

4) Deliver:  My team provided final handoff files for development team with UX/design QA oversight for updated components as well as providing the client custom icons to be used across internal collateral. for a unified employee experience.
